Welding Helmet Patent Dispute — Favorable Settlement
Our attorneys represented a major US home improvement retailer in a lawsuit brought by a manufacturer of welding helmets. After being retained, our team commissioned a prior art search, which uncovered that the competitor’s helmet which they claimed embodied the patent had been shown more than a year prior to the filing of the subject patent at a trade show. This led to a quick and favorable settlement for our client.
Aftermarket Auto Lights — Inter Partes Review Led to Settlement
Our team represented a major supplier of after market automobile lights. After being retained, our team investigated the prior art, and learned that the plaintiff’s product was based on a foreign design that the competitor had more or less copied. Our team prepared and filed a petition for inter partes review that quickly led to a beneficial settlement of the matter.
Trademark Dispute for Novelty Gifts Supplier — Preliminary Injunction Defeated
Our team also represents a major supplier of novelty gifts in a trademark dispute with a competitor that has attempted to monopolized the use of well-known words in advertisements and products. While this case is still pending, the plaintiff brought a preliminary injunction to stop our client from competing with them during the critical holiday season. This injunction was defeated, and our client continues to operate today, years after the suit was initiated.
Multi-Million Schedule A Recoveries
Our team has collected millions of dollars in Schedule A cases, with major wins in design patent, trademark, and copyright litigation. This has allowed our clients to compete more effectively and in some cases have quadrupled their profits from established products.
